MS Dhoni has been nothing short of an icon in the country and definitely the biggest winner Indian cricket has seen. There isn’t a role that he has not nailed in his life. He is a successful wicket keeper and a flamboyant batsman in addition to being one of the most successful captains the country has ever seen. This is the one man who has made it to the history books as a player for his country and for his club and country. Now in the ongoing T20 world cup, MS Dhoni has been given the responsibility of a mentor who would be overseeing the preparations of the squad in a tough tournament. It is surely a great move to make from the Indian contingent as we have seen him thrive in big tournaments. We recently saw him win the IPL with his team wherein he played the perfect mentor for a team which at a point was termed to be full of players who were past their prime. This is further going to be a moment which could be the beginning of another special association between MS Dhoni and the Indian cricket team. You could further see him being a part of the Indian coaching staff in the years to come. Those preparing their cricket betting tips and backing India in this world cup were jolted with the first day loss to their arch rivals Pakistan. But if there is one person who knows how to bounce back from a loss, it is the way he motivates his players to perform at their very best that makes him a once in a generation player and a top-class captain. Often in a format as unpredictable as the T20 format and a tournament as ruthless as the T20 world cup. We will now be looking at how the team performs under his guidance in this setup. MS is a true professional and an out and out process driven person, you would be sure that his expertise will always come in handy while they set out to make this tournament, one they would never forget. This is the first opportunity that he has got to be involved with the Indian team management in any capacity other than as a player. You would really think that this could open doors to further collaborations. One must not forget that he is still very active as a player and plays in the IPL. He teased a return to his beloved CSK franchise while he accepted the winners award for his side. This is where you would think that this is going to be the man who would continue on his journey of success with Indian cricket. The association seems to be one which comes straight from the heart and is above and beyond the material perquisites. It has been reported that he has not taken the honorarium for doing what he is doing for the country and that is certainly gracious from the man who is all class. Now in a tough group and a grueling round robin tournament you would expect the Indian team to come back hard in the rest of the games and keep the chances of their qualifying alive. If that doesn’t work out you would feel that it could be a really anti climatic result which would definitely create a big uproar among his critics. The man though has never been too bothered about it and he would certainly carry on serving Indian cricket in a way that he can and knows best.
